Dog Blog 17 – I’m so Excited 19.5.08
Less than a week to go – and I’ve just peaked at the right time. Muscles fully
toned, coat glistening, claws clipped and nose moist.
I’ve noticed I’m now getting admiring glances from every rough dog in the
neighbourhood. Not that I’m bothered, you understand, but it is an indication of
just how fit I am. Swimming every day and three hours out on the hill yesterday.
My pal Al is just peaking too – but he’s been like a bear with a sore head this
past 24 hours because he picked up a puncture on his bike during his second
fastest ever circuit of High Peak Canal and Lyme Park. And he didn’t have a
spare inner tube. Serves him right for not taking me......not that puncture
repair is exactly my forte.
Anyway, I’ve decided not to do much this week and to have plenty of sleep. Al’s
garden office is my favoured spot at the moment. It’s always warm and snug and
he even lets me sleep at his feet sometimes. I think a sofa would look nice in
there.
I’m quite looking forward to The Big Day, especially as I’ve seen lots of my
favourite food going into his rucksack. I should think so too – I heard him
telling Judy the other day that the walking section would take 16 hours or more.
Finally, a big thank-you to Rochdale Football Club’s supporters. I sent a team
along to collect for the appeal and your generosity came in bucket loads – we’re
still counting it. Good luck at Wembley!
P.S. Sorry I couldn’t put in a personal appearance – I had a prior engagement
with my sofa.
